Our engineers work continuously to improve our products and develop advanced battery technology. Advancements such as Trojan’s Smart Carbon™, T2 Technology™, proprietary Alpha Plus® Paste, and our exclusive Maxguard® separator all help to deliver exceptional battery performance. As energy needs evolve, so do Trojan batteries.
SMART CARBON™
Trojan’s Intelligent Solution for Partial State of Charge
At Trojan, we understand the importance of powering your essential needs. We’re proud to introduce Smart Carbon™, a reliable, intelligent solution for partial state-of-charge (PSoC) applications. Deep cycle batteries used in off-grid and unstable grid applications are heavily cycled at PSoC. Operating at PSoC regularly can quickly diminish the overall life of a battery, which results in frequent and costly battery replacements. After years of research and development, Trojan’s engineering team developed Smart Carbon™. This proprietary formula provides improved performance when the batteries operate in PSoC, enhancing overall battery life in applications where the batteries are undercharged regularly. Smart Carbon builds on Trojan’s commitment to providing deep-cycle batteries with long cycle life, durable design, and consistent daily power. To address the impact of PSoC on deep cycle batteries in renewable energy (RE), inverter, and telecom backup applications, Smart Carbon™ is a standard feature in our Solar Premium flooded battery lines.
ALPHA PLUS® PASTE WITH T2 TECHNOLOGY™
Maximum operation performance
Trojan’s Alpha Plus® Paste is a proprietary, high-density paste formulation precisely engineered to deliver outstanding battery performance. This high-density paste optimizes porosity development in the active material, utilizing the active material more effectively, resulting in sustained battery performance over a more extended period. Trojan’s T2 Technology introduces a patent-pending T2 metal agent into our Alpha Plus® Paste, further strengthening its electrochemical processing capabilities. Alpha Plus Paste with T2 Technology increases sustained capacity and overall ampere-hours, resulting in more operating power for your application. It’s a key reason why Trojan batteries consistently outperform the competition.
MAXGUARD® T2 SEPARATOR
Longer battery life
Exclusively available in Trojan batteries is our Maxguard T2 advanced separator. Trojan’s Maxguard T2 separator features a multi-rib geometry that keeps acid channels open longer, enhancing electrochemical processing while reducing the risk of stratification. Maxguard’s proprietary rubber-based material inhibits antimony transfer between the positive grids and negative plates, a protection not available in many other competitor batteries. A newly fortified, thick back web provides even greater separator strength, resulting in a more robust battery, with increased protection against failures caused by separator degradation. Trojan’s Maxguard T2 advanced separator sustains performance, providing exceptionally longer battery life and significantly lowering operating costs.
